HR Consultant – Basildon Borough Council

Overview

In this interim HR Consultant role, you will lead a large-scale Housing Service restructure under the guidance of the Executive Director of Housing. You’ll partner with senior leaders to shape proposals, guide consultation, and embed the new structure with minimal disruption. You’ll work within a local government context to drive compliant transformation and stakeholder engagement. This is an opportunity to influence strategic change during a significant period of transformation and to support leadership through complex organisational change.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the delivery of a large-scale Housing Service restructure programme
• Partner with senior leaders to develop and implement restructuring proposals
• Support managers throughout the change process, including consultation meetings and employee engagement activities
• Ensure the successful implementation and embedding of the new organisational structure
• Maintain effective communication with stakeholders and employees throughout the programme

Key requirements

• Significant experience as an HR Consultant, preferably within local government
• Proven experience leading and supporting organisational restructures and change programmes
• Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation, particularly in relation to organisational change, consultation and redundancy processes
