Class 2 Driver

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Class 2 HGV Driver to join a well-established business based in Tilbury, delivering timber and wood-based panel products to customers across London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and professional driver looking for consistent weekday work, early finishes where achievable, and the opportunity to secure a permanent position with an increased salary.

You will be driving modern, well-maintained vehicles, carrying out multi-drop deliveries while ensuring all goods are transported safely and delivered on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out multi-drop deliveries of timber and wood-based panel products across London.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report any defects.
• Secure loads safely and carry out curtain pulling as required.
• Complete all delivery paperwork accurately.
• Provide a professional and customer-focused service at delivery locations.
• Assist with occasional manual handling of products.
• Follow all relevant road safety, health and safety, and transport regulations.

Requirements

• Valid Class 2 HGV driving licence.
• Minimum of 2 years’ relevant Class 2 driving experience.
• Valid Driver CPC and digital tachograph card.
• Good knowledge of vehicle safety, load security and delivery procedures.
• Reliable, punctual and professional approach to work.
• Physically capable of occasional manual handling.

Working Pattern & Benefits

• £17.00 per hour.
• Approximately £39,000 annual equivalent, based on the applicable working hours.
• Permanent salary increasing to £42,000 per annum.
• Monday to Friday, day shifts.
• Early starts, typically between 5:00am and 6:00am.
• No weekend work.
• No overnight stays or long-distance trunking.
