Make a Difference in Children’s Lives

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people to overcome challenges and reach their full potential?

We’re partnering with a forward-thinking children’s care provider in the North West, offering compassionate, therapeutic care to young people who have experienced adversity. This is an opportunity to join a dedicated team that provides a safe, nurturing environment where children feel supported, understood, and empowered to thrive.

The Role

As a Residential Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality, therapeutic care to children and young people. You’ll build meaningful relationships, provide emotional and practical support, and help create a stable environment where every child has the opportunity to develop and succeed.

Working closely with your team, you’ll take a child-centred approach to care, recognising each young person’s individual needs and helping them build confidence, resilience, and independence.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide direct care and support in line with individual care plans, promoting children’s emotional wellbeing and development.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships and act as a consistent, supportive role model.
  • Deliver therapeutic, child-centred support, helping young people manage their emotions and navigate challenging situations.
  • Promote positive behaviour, encourage personal development and celebrate achievements.
  • Maintain accurate records, contribute to care planning meetings and ensure children’s voices are heard.
  • Uphold safeguarding, health, and safety standards at all times.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide consistent, high-quality care.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children and young people, ideally in a residential, childcare, or similar support setting.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people and helping them achieve positive outcomes.
  • An understanding of, or willingness to learn about, therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches to care.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and maintain professional boundaries.
  • A full, valid driving licence.
  • Flexibility and reliability, including a willingness to work weekends and sleep-in shifts.
  • A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.

What’s on Offer?

  • Competitive pay of £13.50-£14.60 per hour, plus £60 per sleep-in.
  • Company pension and flexible scheduling.
  • Performance-related bonus.
  • Support towards a Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare.
  • Excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development.
  • Free DBS check.
  • A supportive, inclusive working environment where your contribution genuinely matters.
