Purchasing Manager
Our client is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead procurement, strengthen supplier relationships and deliver commercial value within a growing manufacturing business.
This is an opportunity to shape purchasing strategy, develop people and improve how materials are sourced and managed.
Key responsibilities
- Lead procurement to ensure materials meet cost, quality and delivery requirements.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts and supply agreements with key suppliers.
- Manage supplier performance, supply chain risks and inventory levels.
- Monitor market trends, steel pricing and import requirements to inform purchasing decisions.
- Develop the purchasing team and support the implementation and optimisation of a new MRP system.
About you
Youll bring proven procurement experience within steel, metals, fabrication, construction, manufacturing or a related industrial environment, alongside strong negotiation and commercial skills.
Experience leading purchasing teams, managing strategic suppliers and using market intelligence is essential, together with a good understanding of steel markets, tariffs and duties.
