CHP Service Engineer / Commissioning Engineer
Location: North-East England (Ideally Teesside, Humberside or Newcastle)
Salary: £40,000-£50,000
Benefits: Company Vehicle + Door-to-Door Pay + Overtime + 1/4 on call rota
Are you a Service Engineer with experience in CHP, gas engines and controls looking for a new opportunity with a specialist power-generation business?
Our client is a well-established engineering company specialising in the service, maintenance, repair and overhaul of CHP and gas-engine systems across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Service Engineer to join their field-based team.
The Role
- Planned preventative maintenance and servicing of CHP/gas engines
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and control-system faults
- PLC and control-system fault finding
- Commissioning and testing equipment
- Engine overhauls and component replacement
- Responding to breakdowns and providing technical support
- Working with customers to identify and resolve technical issues
- Completing service reports and maintenance documentation
- Travelling to customer sites across the UK
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for an experienced engineer with a background in CHP, gas engines, power generation or industrial equipment, ideally with strong controls experience.
- CHP / Combined Heat & Power systems
- Gas engines – Jenbacher, MWM, MAN, Guascor, CAT, MTU, Perkins, 2G or similar
- PLCs and control systems
- Electrical fault finding
- Commissioning and servicing
- Engine rebuilds / overhauls
- Industrial instrumentation and control systems
