Health Care Assistant

Job Details Employer: Somerset NHS Foundation Trust Exact location: Somerton Salary: £25760.00 – 27476.00 per annum Working hours: 24 hour rotational shift pattern encompassing nights, weekends and bank holidays

Job duties:

• Build positive, therapeutic interactions with patients and help them to recovery
• Assisting patients with daily living activities, personal care, nutrition, well-being and independence
• Work with nurses, occupational therapists and the larger multi disciplinary team to give high quality, person orientated care.

Requirements:

• Must be willing to work toward NVQ level 3 in direct care or Certificate in Care if not previously held
• Experience of working in a caring, supportive or people orientated position
• An interest in people and personalities
• Can generate ideas for activities
• An awareness of danger.

Experience:

• Experience of working in a caring, supportive or people orientated position
• Previous experience working with mental health services.

Qualifications:

• Must be willing to work toward NVQ level 3 in direct care or Certificate in Care if not previously held.
