Commissioning Engineer – Security Systems

Overview

As a Commissioning Engineer at Hinkley Point C, you will help deliver safe commissioning activities for a complex nuclear site within the Security and Communication Team. You’ll influence security practices and participate in on-site testing and contractor oversight, shaping standards for future nuclear projects. The role blends engineering rigor with security principles to ensure robust commissioning. You’ll work with multidisciplinary teams to drive practical, compliant solutions that support the project’s mission.

Responsibilities

• Review and prepare commissioning documentation
• Witness Factory Acceptance Tests at supplier premises
• Surveillance of contractor installations and commissioning tests
• Perform on-site commissioning tests
• Implement security protocols during testing
• Provide advice and support to commissioning teams during system and station-wide testing

Key requirements

• Electrical Engineering qualifications, HNC or equivalent
• Ability to gain and hold SC security clearance
• Experience with IP-based networks
• Experience with CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Detection systems
• Demonstrated commitment to strong safety and quality culture
• Willingness to travel within the UK to supplier premises
