Data Analyst

Overview

In this role, you will work within the UK Data Management Team to ensure timely updates and delivery of LH1 Valuation Data. You will translate and validate client data, produce CLR-ready valuation portfolio data, and generate analyses and reports for internal valuation stakeholders. You will help shape data processes to support valuation delivery and broader process improvements. You will collaborate with internal clients to understand data content, ensure data quality, and drive efficient data-driven decisions. This is an opportunity to contribute to an area critical to the UK Life business and its valuation capabilities, within a globally respected reinsurer.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute and manage data transformation scripts to produce Valuation portfolio data.
• Conduct data cleansing, profiling, mapping, and mining of Valuation portfolio data.
• Support ad-hoc reporting for internal clients on Valuation portfolio data.
• Gather and document business data requirements for valuation data and support process improvements.
• Ensure client data for Valuation portfolio delivery is stored consistently and aligned with treaty arrangements.
• Improve data delivery processes and tools where possible.
• Monitor and report on data availability, quality, and consistency for Valuation Portfolio deliveries.
• Liaise with internal clients to understand data content and address weaknesses.
• Document detailed business requirements for data and secure agreement across stakeholders.
• Manage own priorities and communicate expectations with colleagues.
• Ensure data used across work streams is up to date and of high quality.
• Produce high-quality written and numerical materials as needed.

Key requirements

• Demonstrable data processing/handling and data analysis skills.
• Professional experience in a Data Analyst role.
• SQL scripting, R, Python, Power BI, Advanced MS Excel.
• Cloud-based data platform experience (Azure, Databricks).
• Git and version control practices.
• Strong numerical/analytical skills.
