Overview

As a Project Engineer in the Structures Design Team, you will lead design and management of bridge maintenance, strengthening and replacement schemes. You will work within a forward-looking in-house unit delivering design, project management and contract oversight for highway structures. Your role involves inspecting and assessing bridges, guiding projects from early stages through construction, and mentoring junior staff where possible. You’ll tackle ambitious schemes with real regional impact and join a collaborative, supportive environment. Responsibilities

• Project management and design of bridge maintenance, strengthening and replacement schemes
• Inspection and assessment of bridges and highway structures

Key requirements

• Extensive post-graduate experience in design and construction of bridges and highway structures
• Ideally Chartered civil or structural engineer
• Knowledge of Eurocodes, construction methods and contract procedures
• Experience in management and mentoring of junior staff is advantageous
