Risk Manager

Company: Zygo People
Apply for the Risk Manager
Location: London
Job Description:

Salary open to discussion + discretionary bonus + options + benefits

Do you know Aladdin well enough to explain exactly how an interest rate swap or a swaption gets represented in it?

Are you the person who can get a complex portfolio to sit properly inside the system, rather than someone who just reads the output?

You’d be joining a global fintech scale-up, backed by a global private equity firm.

Institutional investors use its platform to analyse quantitative investment strategies, construct portfolios and manage risk. The business takes client positions, prepares the data and feeds it into third-party risk engines, then presents the output in its own dashboards.

Now it’s integrating with BlackRock Aladdin, a product that has historically been difficult to integrate with. You’d work directly with the Aladdin team, alongside a very senior consultant on their side, and clients are already asking for it.

There’s no one in the business today who really owns Aladdin. That’s the gap.

Why You’ll Love It Here

  • You’d lead a new business line, which the business sees as probably its most important one for 2027
  • Real ownership: you own your projects end to end and can take on self-initiated ones
  • A flat culture with direct access to senior stakeholders, where good ideas win regardless of title
  • A close-knit team, with two London colleagues (one on risk, one on ops tech) already working on it
  • Scope to build a team around you if the first strategies go well

About the Role

Your first job is to onboard the cross-asset strategies into Aladdin, starting with the simpler instruments and moving to more complex instruments and portfolio structures.

That means working out how each one is represented, what data needs preloading and building the files that get injected.

Then you’ll systematise the onboarding so it scales, and validate the setup once the business has its own Aladdin access.

You’ll sit in the middle between the tech side and the teams working with BlackRock and the clients, reporting into the Head of Risk. Purely London based, no travel.

What You’ll Need

  • 4+ years’ experience in quantitative risk, portfolio analytics or financial engineering
  • Strong hands-on BlackRock Aladdin experience (essential)
  • The ability to represent equities, options, interest rate swaps and swaptions properly in a trade-based risk engine
  • A solid grasp of multi-asset instruments, including derivatives and structured products
  • Experience with financial data, risk reporting and data validation
  • A bit of Python is an advantage

If you want to lead a new business line and own the Aladdin integration, this is worth a conversation.
