As we continue to develop and expand our software platforms and cloud-based services, we’re looking for an experienced Senior .NET Developer to join our growing development team.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced developer who enjoys working across the full software development lifecycle, from initial design and architecture through to development, deployment and ongoing maintenance.
You’ll be involved in developing and enhancing our existing software products, building new applications and services, and helping us make greater use of Microsoft Azure and modern development practices.
We’re particularly interested in someone who combines strong .NET development skills with practical experience of deploying, managing and monitoring cloud-hosted applications and services.
We’re also keen to embrace emerging technologies and modern development approaches, including the use of AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, accelerate development and maintain high standards of software quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test and maintain applications and services using C# and .NET.
- Develop and maintain web applications, RESTful APIs and integrations with third-party systems.
- Deploy, configure, manage and monitor applications and services hosted in Microsoft Azure.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated builds, testing and deployment.
- Contribute to software architecture, technical design and technology decisions.
- Investigate and resolve technical issues, including performance, reliability and security.
- Work with existing development teams to enhance and modernise established software products.
- Explore and adopt new technologies, frameworks and development practices where they offer clear benefits.
- Make effective use of AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, troubleshooting, testing and documentation.
- Participate in code reviews, testing and continuous improvement of our development processes.
We’re looking for someone with strong commercial software development experience and a practical, problem-solving approach.
Software Development
- Strong experience developing applications using C# and .NET / .NET Core.
- Experience developing web applications and services using modern web technologies.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP and integration techniques.
- Experience working with relational databases, particularly Microsoft SQL Server.
- Good understanding of software architecture, security, performance and maintainability.
- Experience using Git and modern source control practices.
- Practical experience deploying, hosting and managing applications and services in Microsoft Azure.
- Familiarity with Azure services such as App Service, Azure Functions, Azure SQL and other relevant cloud technologies.
- Experience configuring and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, ideally using Azure DevOps.
- Understanding of cloud application monitoring, diagnostics, logging and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of cloud security, authentication, access control and configuration management.
AI-Assisted Development
- Experience using AI development tools such as Claude, OpenAI Codex, GitHub Copilot or similar.
- An understanding of how AI tools can be used effectively to accelerate software development, debugging, testing and problem-solving.
- The ability to critically evaluate AI-generated code and ensure it meets appropriate standards for security, reliability and maintainability.
The following would be advantageous, although not essential:
- Experience developing mobile applications for Apple iOS and Android.
- Familiarity with Flutter and Dart for cross-platform application development.
- Experience with ASP.NET Core, React or other modern web frameworks.
- Knowledge of authentication technologies such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect and Microsoft Entra ID.
- Experience developing applications which integrate with external hardware, devices or third-party systems.
- Familiarity with containerisation technologies such as Docker.
- Experience working with both cloud-hosted and on-premise software solutions.
