Data Scientist – AI & Machine Learning

Location: UKContract: 12 monthsWorking Pattern: Hybrid – minimum 2 days per week in the office

I’m recruiting for a Data Scientist to join an exciting AI and machine learning programme, where you’ll help transform complex business challenges into practical, data-driven solutions.

You’ll work alongside multidisciplinary teams to frame problems, explore different approaches and develop advanced machine learning models and AI applications. This is an opportunity to contribute to the development of data science products, combining classical ML techniques with emerging LLM-based solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse and process large datasets from multiple sources.
• Develop and evaluate machine learning models and AI applications using Python.
• Apply statistical analysis to interpret results and support informed decisions.
• Define problem statements, evaluation metrics and experiment designs.
• Contribute to LLM evaluation, prompt engineering and RAG-based approaches.
• Work with business stakeholders to communicate findings and model outcomes.
• Support the development of data science products and provide technical guidance to junior team members.

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong Python skills for machine learning and data science.
• Experience with classical machine learning and LLM development and evaluation.
• Understanding of problem framing and AI/ML evaluation metrics.
• Knowledge of prompt engineering and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Experience designing experiments and working with model cards.
• Ability to interpret complex statistical results and communicate findings.
