Business Development Manager – Energy & Infrastructure

Location: Oxfordshire (Hybrid) + UK Travel

Salary: Competitive Basic + Up to 30% Bonus

Employment: Permanent | Full-Time

The Opportunity

I’m working with a rapidly growing business operating at the forefront of the UK’s transition to low-carbon energy, looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager to support its ambitious growth plans.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-backed organisation delivering large-scale, sustainable energy infrastructure projects across the UK.

You’ll play a key role in driving commercial growth, identifying new opportunities and securing long-term customer agreements, working closely with senior leadership and technical project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop and manage new business opportunities across the energy and infrastructure sectors.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective customers and commercial opportunities.
  • Lead the full B2B sales cycle, from initial engagement through to contract negotiation and signature.
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders, including commercial property owners, developers and other potential customers.
  • Present complex technical solutions, clearly communicating their commercial and environmental benefits.
  • Work closely with technical and commercial teams to develop compelling customer proposals.
  • Support customer onboarding and maintain strong relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Represent the business at industry events, meetings and stakeholder presentations.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in B2B sales or business development, ideally within energy, utilities, engineering or infrastructure.
  • Experience selling complex technical products, solutions or services.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a proven ability to negotiate contracts and close deals.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience developing sales pipelines and managing opportunities through to completion.
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-growing business.
  • An interest in renewable energy, sustainability or decarbonisation.

Experience within district heating or heat networks would be advantageous, but is not essential.
