Management Accountant

Sowena Group are partnered with an established Logistics firm, HQ’d in Birmingham, to assist in the hire of a technically strong Management Accountant.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate and timely management accounts, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring robust financial controls across all entities.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of monthly management accounts for multiple entities within the group
• Consolidation of group financial results and variance analysis
• Production of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans
• Analysis of financial performance, identifying trends and key drivers
• Business partnering with operational teams to support decision-making
• Balance sheet reconciliations and maintenance of accurate financial records
• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies
• Supporting year-end audit processes and statutory reporting
• Monitoring cash flow and working capital across the group
• Continuous improvement of financial processes and reporting systems

Key Requirements

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
• Proven experience in a Management Accountant role
• Experience working with multi-entity/group structures
• Strong knowledge of management accounting and financial reporting
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with accounting systems
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
• Confident communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally
