Senior Finance Officer – 15596

Location: Enfield – Working Arrangement: This role requires regular on-site attendance (minimum once a week). This is essential and candidates must be able to attend the office regularly

Candidate Requirements

• To excel in this role, you should have experience of working within a complex organisation, preferably in the public sector.
• You will possess strong numerical and analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook is essential.
• Government experience is essential

Essential

• Relevant accountancy experience, working within a finance team related role in a local authority or wider public sector or not for profit organisation environment as part of Financial Accounting or
• Finance Business Partnering Teams
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience of working with senior stakeholders
• Excellent IT skills, experience and knowledge including Microsoft packages and specifically strong Excel skills
• Experience of supporting change / efficiency initiatives
• Knowledge and understanding of local authority accounting and reporting requirements
• Experience of year end closing processes and dealing with audit queries
• Experience working to deadlines with a high attention to detail and accuracy
• Proactive development of skills and knowledge
• Highly numerate and literate

Desirable

• CCAB or CIMA part or fully qualified Accountant
• ICT technical experience

Knowledge

• Excellent understanding and experience of working within public sector Finance accountancy related roles
• Council processes and working practices
• Demonstrable experience of working within a finance related role in a local authority

Qualification(s)

• CCAB or CIMA part or fully qualified accountant desirable
