The role

This is the company’s first marketing hire, reporting to the CEO. It has done almost no marketing to date, so you’ll start from a blank page and see the impact quickly. You’ll set the strategy and do the work yourself to begin with, then build and lead the team as the company grows.

What you’ll do

• Own the positioning and messaging, building on work already done with a positioning consultant. That includes a story channel partners and resellers can pitch without the company in the room
• Shape how the market sees the company, through content, social media, events, the website and video
• Run product marketing: plan major launches, set up a regular rhythm for release notes and product updates, and create guides and enablement for customers and partners
• Own the events calendar, and test digital channels before scaling the ones that work
• Lay the groundwork for a peer community of IT and security leaders

What you’ll bring

• B2B marketing experience in cyber security. Identity, IAM or PAM is ideal
• Early-stage start-up experience, and you’re happy doing the work yourself
• Strong product marketing and content skills, with enough digital knowledge to know where to focus first
• Firm opinions, held loosely. You build a plan around the business in front of you rather than reusing your last playbook
• You use AI tools in your day-to-day work, and your first instinct is to build things in-house
• Ideally, experience marketing through channel partners or resellers
