Apply for the Group/Financial Accountant – Entertainment
Location: London
Job Description:

An exciting opportunity for a talented, qualified accountant to join a highly successful, multi-award-winning Entertainment Group with an established presence across the UK and US. With an impressive industry reputation and continued growth, this is a fantastic chance to build your career within a dynamic, creative business.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll take ownership of Group accounting, consolidations, statutory reporting and tax compliance, while also gaining involvement in the preparation of monthly management accounts and commercial analysis. Offering an appealing mix of technical accounting and broader financial exposure, this is a varied role where you’ll work closely with the wider business and become part of a genuinely friendly, collaborative finance team.

The ideal candidate will be a practice-trained, qualified accountant who has gained around a year’s experience in a similar role within industry. Alternatively, applications are welcomed from recently qualified accountants looking to make their first move out of practice, provided they have experience working with clients across the TV, Film, Entertainment, Media or wider creative sectors.

You’ll be confident with Group consolidations, statutory accounts and financial controls, with a positive, personable approach and the ability to build relationships at all levels.

This is an office-based role, with both full-time and part-time applicants considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own annual Group consolidations and statutory accounts for the Group and its subsidiaries, including tax workings, and act as the main contact for external auditors.
  • Prepare quarterly bank reporting, including Group P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and covenant calculations, supporting internal reporting and rolling forecasts alongside the FD and FP&A teams.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts, providing supporting financial analysis and commentary, while contributing to commercial analysis and reporting to help support business performance and decision-making.
  • Oversee financial controls, overhead reporting, audit accruals, corporation tax journals, reconciliations and statutory filings, including dormant accounts and compliance statements.
  • Manage Group tax compliance, including quarterly corporation tax payments, VAT returns, P11Ds and annual PAYE Settlement Agreements, liaising with external advisers as required.
  • Administer Group and intercompany dividends, recharges and monthly intercompany reconciliations, alongside central finance payment approvals.
  • Support systems and process improvements, ad hoc projects and collaboration with divisional finance teams across the business.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Fully qualified ACA, ACCA, CA or equivalent, ideally with 1-2 years’ PQE.
  • Practice-trained, with approximately one year’s experience in a similar industry role, or recently qualified from practice with exposure to TV, Film, Entertainment, Media or creative sector clients.
  • Strong technical accounting skills, particularly Group consolidations and statutory reporting.
  • Experience using CaseWare and strong Excel skills.
  • Good understanding of UK Corporation Tax, VAT, PAYE, statutory reporting and audit requirements.
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Proactive, self-motivated and confident working independently as well as part of a team.
  • An engaging, approachable personality with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enthusiastic about working within a fast-paced, creative and growing business.

A fantastic opportunity to bring your technical accounting expertise into the Entertainment industry, joining a successful international Group where you’ll enjoy genuine responsibility, broader commercial exposure, a supportive team and the chance to develop your career.
