Supplier Development Professional

Overview

As a Supplier Development Specialist at BAE Systems, you help drive supplier performance and resilience for the Global Combat Ships supply chain. You’ll partner with engineering, quality, manufacturing and procurement to identify risks, improve capability and deliver value. You’ll lead audits, CAPA actions and continuous improvement initiatives, using data and stakeholder insight to support strategic objectives. This role offers impact across a multi-national supplier base within a world-class defence programme, in a collaborative, growth-minded environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess supplier capability, capacity and readiness and implement targeted improvement plans
• Lead supplier development and continuous improvement activities to enhance quality, delivery and performance
• Conduct supplier audits, reviews and investigations with effective corrective and preventive actions
• Monitor supplier compliance and risk, coordinating mitigation activities aligned to business objectives
• Collaborate with stakeholders to drive performance improvements, maintain reporting and support process excellence

Key requirements

• Experience managing supplier performance and development within complex manufacturing, engineering or supply chain environments
• Solid understanding of quality management systems and standards (ISO 9001, AS9100, APQP) and related regulatory requirements
• Experience conducting supplier audits, capability assessments and performance reviews to drive improvements
• Expertise in Lean, Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies, with ability to lead initiatives and support capability development
