Buyer Supply Chain

Overview

In this role you support timely, cost-efficient procurement across the supply chain, partnering with cross-functional teams to meet business and customer needs. You will manage RFQs, purchase orders, and supplier performance while driving cost savings and continuous improvement. The position involves supplier development, inbound logistics coordination, and collaboration with Finance to resolve invoicing issues. You will contribute to strategic sourcing initiatives and capital parts programs in a global aerospace context.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate sourcing and RFQ activities for new products & services
• Review requisitions and support timely PO placement
• Lead vendor communications on order status and discrepancies; manage claims
• Collate and report purchasing metrics (OTD, cost savings)
• Fulfilling MRPs and addressing Sales Order shortages with Supply Chain
• Coordinate logistics to ensure on-time delivery
• Support Capital Parts program purchasing requirements
• Identify and approve new suppliers
• Maintain quality documentation for approved suppliers
• Resolve invoice queries with Finance and provide cover for team members
• Support bids and tenders and other commercial administration

Key requirements

• Up to 3 years of procurement/purchasing experience in relevant environments
• Knowledge of ERP systems advantageous
• Knowledge of import/export requirements for UK/EU and non-EU countries
• General knowledge of budgeting, inventory, and cost-management
• Knowledge of materials, products, and the commodity market
• Knowledge of Inventory Management
• Knowledge of AI Agents
• GCSE Maths and English; business or engineering degree advantageous; CIPS or CPSM advantageous
