Data Architect

Overview

As a Data Architect at Accenture, you will shape data strategy and architecture across public and private sector projects. You will lead architectural decisions, mentor teams, and ensure data models and migration/integration approaches align with enterprise standards. This role blends hands-on design with strategic governance to deliver scalable data solutions. You will work closely with clients and cross-functional teams to drive data-driven outcomes and innovation. A strong impact awaits in featured government and client-facing initiatives that require robust data architectures.

Responsibilities

• Define architecture for high-profile government and private sector projects with technical leadership
• Develop data strategy, migration approach, and data integration strategies
• Analyze current live applications and systems at client sites
• Document scope, context, and constraints for stakeholder acceptance
• Create standards and guidelines to direct build and deployment of systems
• Ensure architectural principles are applied in the final product
• Define an enterprise-wide data model across products
• Propose data storage solutions for distributed systems
• Design models suitable for micro-services and big-data storage within national frameworks
• Govern and support the delivery of data solutions
• Line manage and mentor team members

Key requirements

• Strong architecture and software engineering background with leadership of engineers or architects
• Experience defining data strategy, migration and integration approaches
• Hands-on data architect experience when needed (Java, Scala, Python)
• Big Data technologies experience
• Microsoft Azure experience
• Experience with both open source and vendor data platforms
• Data architecture knowledge and methodologies
• Microservices architecture experience
• Design experience for structured and unstructured data
• Understanding non-functional drivers of design
• Data modelling experience
• Strong Java and REST Services background with design and code review capability
• Effective communication and stakeholder management in a consultancy context

• Effective verbal and written communication
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
