SAP Data Migration Specialist

Overview

In this contract role, you will lead the migration of data from a recently acquired UK business into SAP ECC6, ensuring clean, mapped, and load-ready data across multiple cycles leading to go-live. You will work closely with business stakeholders and functional consultants to maintain migration plans, runbooks, and mappings while developing load programs and test loads. The role requires SC security clearance and hands-on problem solving to deliver a successful data migration and post-go-live support.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain migration plans, mapping specifications and runbooks
• Support business teams in cleansing non-SAP data and preparing master and transactional data templates
• Maintain source-to-target mappings and transformation rules
• Develop migration scripts (e.g., LSMW), run test loads and resolve failures
• Carry out dress rehearsals and reconciliations to ensure data quality
• Support cut-over planning, production migration and post go-live hypercare

Key requirements

• Hands-on experience migrating data from non-SAP systems to SAP ECC6
• Experience developing data load programmes (e.g., LSMW)
• Strong understanding of SAP data objects
• Experience with data conversion, mapping and transformation
• Experience resolving data load defects and failures
• Ability to work collaboratively with functional consultants and business stakeholders
• Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
• Current UK SC security clearance is required
