Cyber Security Engineer

Overview

In this role you will design, implement and manage security solutions to protect client systems, apps and data. You will collaborate with engineering and security teams to embed best practices across hybrid cloud and on‑prem environments. You’ll build automation for security tooling and help shape security policies and standards. This is a hands‑on position with exposure to incident detection, threat intelligence and risk mitigation in a growing security engineering practice.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage security tools, systems, and processes to protect infrastructure, applications, and data
• Partner with other engineering and security teams to embed security best practices
• Automate security tooling and SIEM log ingestion
• Manage firewall and network security across hybrid cloud and on‑prem environments
• Develop and maintain security policies, standards and procedures
• Conduct security assessments using infrastructure reviews and CIS benchmarks

Key requirements

• Core concepts of cyber security and platform engineering
• Experience with Linux or WSL
• SIEM and log routing experience (Splunk, Sentinel, Cribl, ELK)
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, and GCP services
• Scripting or programming skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
• Experience with IDS/IPS, vulnerability management and endpoint security
• Familiarity with IaC technologies (CloudFormation, Terraform, Bicep)
• Experience in SOC teams
• On‑call availability for high priority incidents
