Finance Controller

Overview

In this role you will lead the finance function for Multimatic in Coventry, ensuring accurate month-end close, robust reporting, and strong cash flow management. You will partner with senior leadership to provide insights, drive cost efficiency, and support strategic initiatives across project accounting and capital investments. You will mentor the Finance team, strengthen internal controls, and champion continuous improvement of systems and processes. Responsibilities

• Manage month-end and year-end closures on time and accurately
• Prepare and present monthly financial reporting packs to Group office
• Lead cash flow planning, credit control and working capital management
• Deliver financial insights and analysis to support senior leadership decisions
• Ensure accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and risk/opportunity identification
• Lead and develop the Finance team to maintain excellence in financial operations
• Oversee project accounting and profitability tracking to support commercial performance
• Act as strategic advisor to senior leadership for performance optimisation and cost efficiency
• Provide strategic direction to project teams to achieve financial objectives
• Manage statutory reporting, tax compliance and audit requirements
• Champion continuous improvement and strengthen internal controls
• Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations for accuracy
• Support scenario planning and financial modelling for future initiatives
• Support capital investment processes including MIRR, DCF and payback analyses
• Mentor and coach Finance team members for growth and performance
• Lead or support ad hoc financial projects and initiatives as required
