Financial Accountant

Overview

In this role you will own US revenue and cost of sales close, ensuring accurate period recognition and margin reporting. You will work with the UK Finance team to deliver timely, high-quality financial reporting and drive process improvements using strong Excel skills. You will collaborate with sales, commercial, and revenue operations to address questions and ensure data integrity across platforms. The position emphasizes ownership, cross-team cooperation, and meeting tight month-end deadlines. This role offers impact across a multi-entity environment and opportunities to streamline the close process in a fast-paced adtech business.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly revenue and cost-of-sales close, including journal entries for revenue, cost of sales, and gross margin across group entities
• Prepare and validate revenue and cost accruals in line with policy
• Reconcile revenue and cost of sales to platform, billing, and partner data; investigate variances
• Prepare gross margin bridges and variance analysis with commentary after month-end close
• Support billing accuracy and revenue completeness by tying billed revenue to contracts, IOs, and platform reporting
• Reconcile intercompany revenue and cost flows; assist intercompany recharges linked to revenue and margin
• Partner with revenue operations, sales, and commercial teams to resolve pricing, billing, and recognition questions
• Support compliance over revenue and cost of sales, including audits and controls
• Identify opportunities to streamline and standardize recurring revenue and margin close processes

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; ACCA/ACA candidate or equivalent is a plus
• 5+ years of accounting experience, including revenue and cost of sales in multi-entity or intercompany environment
• Hands-on revenue recognition and month-end close experience
• Experience reconciling revenue to billing, platform, or partner data in media/adtech or high-volume business
• Experience with NetSuite (or comparable ERP) strongly preferred
• Strong Excel skills for recurring reconciliation and margin workbooks
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Clear written communication for variance commentary and cross-functional collaboration
• Hands-on mindset with ability to work independently in a remote, multi-entity environment
