SDLC & Release Automation Java/Kotlin Engineer

Overview

As part of Citi’s Chief Technology Office, you will build scalable backend services and APIs that empower internal engineering platforms used by tens of thousands of engineers. You will influence architecture in an agile, technology-led environment and explore AI to boost developer productivity. This role sits in the Developer Enablement team, focused on reducing friction in software delivery and release automation. You will collaborate with global teams to shape the future of engineering at Citi.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain backend services
• Develop APIs and microservices for engineering platforms
• Contribute to architecture and technical design decisions
• Collaborate with engineers, product teams and stakeholders globally
• Champion engineering best practices, code quality and automation
• Explore and apply emerging AI technologies to improve products and developer experience

Key requirements

• Strong commercial experience with Java or Kotlin
• Experience building RESTful APIs and backend services
• Knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB or Couchbase)
• Experience delivering production-grade software in Agile teams
