Senior Python Developer

Overview

In this role you will design, build, and evolve scalable software platforms that evaluate and improve AI-powered applications. You will collaborate with software engineers and data scientists to create reusable tooling that standardizes AI evaluation across the organisation. You’ll lead technical direction, promote engineering best practices, and ensure responsible AI usage throughout the lifecycle. Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Python-based software and services to measure quality, reliability, performance, and safety of AI-assisted applications
• Build reusable platforms, frameworks, and tooling for cross-team AI evaluation
• Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to translate evaluation methodologies into technical solutions
• Support deployment and operations in Azure, coordinating with DevOps and platform teams
• Own technical direction, promote engineering standards, mentor colleagues, raise overall quality
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to boost productivity and software quality

Key requirements

• Significant production Python experience
• Experience delivering robust, scalable cloud-based systems/services
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles (quality, maintainability, security, operations)
• Experience influencing technical direction or mentoring engineers
• Experience building platforms/frameworks/shared services for multiple users/teams
• Curiosity about AI technologies and responsible AI use in development lifecycle
