AI Solutions Engineer – Sheffield Hybrid – 55,000-60,000 (DoE)

Overview

In this role, you will design and deliver AI-powered tools that streamline business processes and teams’ workflows. You’ll bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders to turn real needs into practical, deployable solutions. The position focuses on building tangible products rather than research, with emphasis on rapid delivery and measurable benefits. You’ll work across departments to embed AI in existing systems and ensure responsible use and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and release AI-powered solutions to improve productivity
• Develop apps/workflows/integrations/AI-assisted offerings for day-to-day needs
• Engage internal customers to capture requirements and deliver usable results
• Identify manual bottlenecks and automate them
• Integrate AI features into existing processes and systems
• Monitor performance and iterate to demonstrate benefits
• Coach colleagues on using AI tools responsibly
• Ensure data protection, risk, and compliance alignment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to sustain value

Key requirements

• Proven track record in software, integrations, automations, or similar technical products
• Familiarity with modern AI (including generative language models) or workflow automation tooling
• Proficient in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, PHP)
• Ability to translate vague business problems into technical solutions
• Clear, confident communication across roles and levels
• Self-starter with a bias for shipping useful work early
• Sound judgement on technology choices, risk, and problem solving
