Systems Accountant

Overview

In this role you will support a global ERP implementation, acting as the bridge between finance and IT to ensure a smooth deployment. You will drive data migration, requirements translation, and finance reporting within a bespoke system. You’ll work with senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners to align processes with the new platform, delivering training and ongoing user support. This Cardiff-based assignment offers high visibility and potential extension.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end implementation of a bespoke ERP system
• Act as liaison between Finance, IT, and external partners
• Translate finance requirements into system specifications
• Improve finance processes to align with the ERP
• Support system configuration, testing, UAT, and deployment
• Lead data validation, reconciliation, and migration
• Develop finance reporting capabilities in the new system
• Create process documentation, user guides, and training materials
• Deliver training and ongoing support to finance users
• Identify implementation risks and propose solutions

Key requirements

• Proven experience as Systems Accountant, Finance Systems Analyst, or ERP Project Accountant
• Involvement in ERP implementation, upgrade, or transformation projects
• Strong understanding of finance processes, controls, and accounting principles
• Experience with large ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics, NetSuite, or similar)
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Experience in complex, multi-site or global organisations (advantageous)
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced project environment
