Broster Buchanan are partnering with a successful and growing business based in North Manchester to recruit a commercially focused Financial Controller. Offering a salary of around £65,000 plus a fantastic benefits package, this is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to take ownership of a finance role, with direct exposure to and reporting into the board.
The Role
This is a broad, hands-on Financial Controller position with responsibility across the full finance function. You’ll play a key role in driving financial performance, delivering meaningful management information and providing the commercial insight needed to support strategic business decisions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Taking ownership of the full finance function, ensuring robust financial controls and accurate reporting.
- Leading monthly management accounts preparation and delivering insightful management reporting.
- Reviewing and challenging P&L performance, investigating variances and identifying opportunities to improve profitability.
- Reporting directly to the board, presenting financial results, KPIs and commercial recommendations.
- Overseeing budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
- Providing financial analysis and insight to support business planning and strategic growth.
- Driving improvements across financial processes, controls and reporting systems.
- Working closely with senior stakeholders to support business performance and accountability.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and statutory reporting requirements.
About You
We’re looking for a commercially minded finance professional with strong technical accounting skills and the confidence to operate at board level.
- Fully qualified background CIMA ACA ACCA
- Experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or similar senior finance position.
- Strong management accounting, financial reporting and P&L analysis experience.
- The ability to interpret financial data and translate it into meaningful commercial insight.
- Confidence presenting financial performance and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to improving processes, controls and profitability.
- Excellent communication skills and a hands-on, collaborative approach.
