Package: £38,149.27 basic salary + Pension + Private Healthcare + Leisure Benefits
Location: North London – Depot-Based
Industry: Construction Machinery / Parts Sales / Aftermarket
The Business
An established construction machinery business is looking to appoint a Parts Sales Assistant to its North London depot. This is an opportunity to join a hands-on parts team and help develop a more proactive approach to supporting existing trade customers and increasing parts sales.
The Role
The position combines the day-to-day work of a Parts Advisor with additional customer contact and sales development.
You’ll respond to parts enquiries and help run the depot, while using customer and machine information to follow up quotations, spot future parts requirements and contact customers about suitable products. It’s not a desk-only telesales role: everyone in the small team supports the full parts operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively contact customers to follow up quotations and identify relevant parts opportunities.
- Use internal systems and machine/customer data, including the Dealer Intelligence Portal, to spot possible maintenance or replacement-part needs.
- Respond to inbound trade enquiries and identify, price and supply the correct parts.
- Build long-term customer relationships through responsive service and knowledgeable advice.
- Process orders, purchase orders and invoices accurately.
- Help with stock control, incoming deliveries, parts picking and day-to-day depot activities.
About You
We’re interested in people with solid parts experience who enjoy speaking to customers and are confident using computer systems.
You could be an established Parts Sales Advisor or a strong Parts Counter Assistant who wants to take on more proactive customer contact. Construction machinery knowledge is advantageous, not essential.
Suitable backgrounds could include:
- Automotive or motor factor parts advisers.
- Commercial vehicle or agricultural parts specialists.
- Plant, forklift or industrial parts staff with a commercial approach.
Good organisation, resilience, initiative and confidence learning detailed ERP/parts systems are important; you must be happy helping with stock and counter duties as well as proactive customer contact. Forklift training is available, and a driving licence is not required.
What’s on Offer
- 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday; standard hours 8:00am–5:30pm.
- Company pension, private healthcare and leisure membership contributions (subject to scheme eligibility).
- Full training on the internal parts systems and construction machinery products.
- An opportunity to contribute to a developing, proactive parts sales approach.
