Construction Estimator

Overview

In this role you will support pre-construction by preparing accurate, competitive tenders for a range of new build and refurbishment schemes. You will work with the Pre-Construction and Commercial teams to shape bids and identify value opportunities, contributing to project wins. You’ll review drawings and specs, gather supplier quotes, and assess risks while building strong supply-chain relationships. This is a regional contractor role with the chance to impact local communities through delivery of education, healthcare, commercial and industrial projects.

Responsibilities

• Producing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation
• Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Identifying project risks and value engineering opportunities
• Attending tender review meetings and client presentations
• Supporting bid strategy and contributing to successful project wins
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with the supply chain

Key requirements

• Previous Estimator/Senior Estimator experience in construction
• Background working for a main contractor
• Experience pricing projects in commercial, healthcare, education or industrial sectors
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software
