A Specialist Insurer is seeking a technically minded Scrum Master to support the delivery of a portfolio of technology change initiatives.
This role would suit a Scrum Master who has progressed from a hands-on Software Developer or Engineering background and is comfortable leading Agile teams delivering cloud-based applications and platforms.
The successful candidate will work closely with Developers, Architects, QA Engineers and Product Owners, helping teams deliver complex technology solutions whilst embedding Agile best practices.
Whilst the role sits within the insurance sector, the hiring manager is open to candidates from technology-led organisations where engineering excellence, DevOps practices and modern software delivery methodologies are deeply embedded.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives.
- Remove blockers and impediments impacting delivery teams.
- Coach Agile teams on Scrum principles and best practices.
- Work closely with Product Owners to support backlog refinement and prioritisation.
- Track delivery progress, sprint metrics and team performance.
- Foster collaboration between technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve team effectiveness and delivery outcomes.
- Support the successful delivery of multiple concurrent technology projects.
- Help development teams adopt and improve modern software delivery practices across the full development lifecycle.
Required Experience
- Proven experience working as a Scrum Master within software engineering and technology delivery environments.
- Previous background in Software Development, Engineering, Technical Delivery or a closely related technical discipline.
- Experience leading Agile development teams delivering cloud-based applications, platforms or digital products.
- Strong understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, test automation and cloud deployment practices.
- Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
- Demonstrable experience removing delivery blockers and improving team performance.
- Excellent stakeholder management and facilitation skills.
- Experience working with Developers, Architects, QA Engineers, Platform Engineers and Business Analysts.
- Experience using Agile delivery tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps and Confluence.
