Managing Quantity Surveyor – Civil Engineering & Infrastructure
Salary: Up to £86,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus + Benefits

RGB Recruitment is working with an established civil engineering contractor seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team.
With a strong pipeline of secured infrastructure projects across Devon and Cornwall, this is an excellent opportunity to take on a senior commercial leadership role within a well-established business.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for the commercial delivery of a portfolio of projects, working closely with operational teams to drive performance, manage contractual risk and maximise commercial returns.
The Role
- Lead the commercial management of civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
- Oversee cost control, forecasting, CVRs and financial reporting.
- Manage procurement, subcontractor accounts, valuations and final account negotiations.
- Oversee contractual matters, including NEC early warnings, compensation events and change control.
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
- Provide leadership, mentoring and support to the wider commercial team.
- Work closely with project teams and senior management to ensure successful commercial delivery.
About You
We’re looking for an experienced commercial professional with:
- A strong background in civil engineering, infrastructure or utilities.
- Previous experience working for a main contractor.
- Excellent working knowledge of NEC contracts.
- Proven experience managing or mentoring commercial teams.
- Strong commercial awareness, negotiation and financial management skills.Experience overseeing multiple projects or significant infrastructure packages.
- The ability to build effective relationships with clients, subcontractors and operational teams.
