Senior Structural Engineer

Overview

In this role you design and supervise structural projects within HDR’s Building Engineering Services, guiding multidisciplinary collaboration to deliver robust designs, reports and drawings on program. You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate CAD/Revit resources, and maintain strong client relationships to drive project success. Responsibilities

• Design and supervise project work; establish client brief, requirements, scope and deliverables
• Define service level and design duties with Group Leader/Line Manager and align with fee
• Support resource planning for engineering/CAD/Revit per project
• Translate concept design to detailed design, tender and contract deliverables
• Attend meetings and site visits to progress projects and perform surveys
• Coordinate with design team for integrated designs
• Contribute to design reviews and progress checks
• Monitor project progress, design changes and budgets
• Maintain client and design team relationships to secure satisfaction and repeat business

Key requirements

• BEng, MSc in Structural or Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in structural engineering on design consultancy/engineering projects
• Experience in data centre structural design is highly advantageous
• Pursuit of Chartered status and/or relevant qualifications
• Strong knowledge of Revit and Tekla for structural design and documentation
