Solicitor – Residential Property – Devon – Hybrid

Overview

In this role, you will manage a high-quality caseload of residential conveyancing and help steer the Residential Property team. You will work closely with the Head of Residential Property to mentor colleagues, drive performance, and contribute to department growth. The position blends senior casework with leadership, offering an opportunity to shape the future direction of a busy practice. You will build strong client and referrer relationships while delivering excellent technical advice and service. This role combines quality work, leadership, and flexible working in a growing firm.

Responsibilities

• Manage a full caseload of residential conveyancing transactions from instruction to post-completion
• Handle freehold and leasehold sales/purchases, remortgages, transfers of equity, new build transactions and shared ownership
• Provide expert legal advice, conduct due diligence, and draft and negotiate contracts and related documents
• Supervise, mentor and support junior team members while fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture
• Build relationships with clients and referrers, contribute to business development and departmental growth

Key requirements

• Solictor, Licensed Conveyancer or CILEX Lawyer with at least 3 years PQE (or equivalent)
• Strong background in residential property law
• Excellent technical expertise, outstanding client care, and ability to manage complex matters efficiently
