Head of FX eTrading Frontend Development

Overview

As a senior FX technology leader, you will drive delivery of high-performance, low-latency FX systems and lead a skilled engineering team. You’ll partner with traders and quants to define architectures and implement impactful solutions across asset classes. This hands-on role blends technical depth with people leadership, shaping best practices and fostering cross-functional collaboration to support Citi FX’s market-leading technology platform.

Responsibilities

• Manage and inspire a high-quality engineering team
• Define and implement solutions benefiting the business and multiple asset classes
• Balance hands-on technical work with thought leadership
• Oversee personnel duties (performance reviews, hiring, disciplinary actions)
• Develop team vision and structure for maximum impact and resource efficiency
• Drive system architecture design and engage with end-users to improve deliverables
• Ensure adherence to Citi policies and maintain documentation
• Lead local staff forums and communicate organizational progress
• Contribute to best practices and consistency across teams

Key requirements

• Ultra low-latency development practices
• FX knowledge (highly preferred)
• Ability to develop a team as a strong engineering role model
• Ability to collaborate with trading and quant teams
• Track record of building new systems, replacing legacy systems, and renovating existing systems
• Strong systems knowledge across software, hardware, and networks
• Exceptional communication skills across all levels
• Hands-on engineer with ability to deep-dive into product and codebase
• Awareness of industry trends and adoption of new technologies
• Experience collaborating and influencing cross-functional teams
