Overview
In this role you will lead a commercially significant procurement portfolio across construction, property, infrastructure and corporate services for a large public sector organisation. You will shape sourcing strategies, manage complex tenders, and engage senior stakeholders to drive value and performance. The role blends technical procurement expertise with strategic influence, offering opportunities to develop category plans, improve delivery outcomes and act as a recognised commercial partner. This position is based in South West London with hybrid on-site work three days a week.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex tenders from concept through to award
- Manage high-profile works, services and corporate procurements
- Develop category plans and sourcing strategies
- Identify opportunities to improve value and performance
- Drive supplier engagement and competition
- Support compliance with the new procurement landscape
- Produce procurement reports and governance documentation
- Manage and develop junior procurement colleagues
- Collaborate closely with operational, technical and finance stakeholders
Key requirements
- Recent public sector procurement experience
- Experience leading high-value procurement projects
- Knowledge of construction, property, infrastructure or corporate service categories
- Strong e-tendering and evaluation experience
- Commercial credibility with senior stakeholders
- Experience balancing governance, risk and delivery deadlines
- Interest in category management rather than purely transactional procurement
