Senior Medical Planner

Overview

In this Senior Medical Planner role at HDR’s Health practice, you will drive planning, design and coordination for healthcare projects. You will apply evidence-based design methods to align clinical, operational and facility planning with clients’ strategic goals. You will create health planning drawings, diagrams and narratives, collaborating across disciplines to deliver integrated solutions. You’ll mentor junior staff and help shape innovative, 21st‑century healthcare environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide planning, design and coordination support on projects and pursuits
• Engage in problem solving, teamwork, critical thinking, mathematical reasoning, and visualization to create accurate drawings
• Prepare drawings and specification documents
• Research, plan, design and administer building projects applying knowledge of design construction procedures, codes, and materials
• Understand healthcare trends
• Prepare health planning presentation drawings, diagrams, and narratives
• Coordinate all disciplines related to building design and health planning
• Mentor junior staff in health planning practices
• Perform other duties as needed

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
• Minimum 12 years related experience
• Strong organizational skills
• Knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in construction
• Understanding of design techniques and production of technical plans, prints, drawings and models
• Active participant in employee-owned culture
