Overview

In this Field Engineer role, you’ll install and maintain fixed and mobile networks, contributing to Vodafone’s mission to close the digital divide. You’ll operate within the Field Engineering team, balancing hands-on physical work with safety and quality standards. Expect travel, on-call shifts, and the need to work at height on rooftop and field sites, delivering reliable connectivity at scale. You’ll help power communities and businesses through robust network delivery and maintenance, in a dynamic, inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation and maintenance on fixed and mobile networks and Vodafone business solutions
• Regularly climb and work on infrastructure, including rooftop sites
• Adhere to health & safety standards and meet performance targets
• Travel as required to meet business demands; participate in 24/7 callout rota or shifts
• Engage in lone working while maintaining safety and efficiency
• Maintain and troubleshoot telecoms technologies across multi-vendor equipment
• Manage workload and demonstrate adaptability under pressure

Key requirements

• SC clearance or eligibility (residency in the UK for past 5 years)
• Formal telecoms/electronic qualification or equivalent experience
• Experience in service provision, fault diagnosis and rectification of telecoms technologies
• Multi-vendor CPE including Cisco, Juniper and ADVA; core transmission techs including DWDM and Ethernet
• Mobile networking tech (3G/4G/5G) and associated equipment
• Microwave Radio and fiber/copper cabling and termination
• Valid UK/EU driving license (Category B)
• Excellent customer-facing skills
• Ability to obtain and maintain SC clearance and Advanced Climber/Tower Rescue Certification
• Ability to work independently and in a team, under pressure
