Indirect Tax Associate Director/Director – Financial Services

Overview

As a Senior Financial Services VAT Specialist, you will shape and grow the firm’s Financial Services VAT offering while delivering high-quality advisory to financial services, insurance, and asset management clients. You’ll lead business development, manage key client relationships, and mentor the wider VAT team, aligning with the firm’s strategic FS VAT direction. The role combines technical excellence with leadership and cross‑functional collaboration, offering visibility and a potential path to partnership.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality VAT advice to financial services and insurance clients
• Shape and deliver the national Financial Services VAT strategy
• Lead business development activity: identify opportunities, prepare proposals, support pitches
• Build and sustain relationships with clients and key market contacts
• Collaborate with colleagues across tax and other service lines
• Oversee delivery of assignments and contribute to team development and governance

Key requirements

• Substantial VAT advisory experience within financial services, insurance and/or asset management
• Strong understanding of the sector and market trends
• Proven track record in business development and long-term client relationships
• Experience in leading, managing or developing teams
