QA Automation Engineer – Java/SQL (AVP)

Overview

In this role you will support Citi’s bold multi-year transformation of the Prime Services business. You will join the Equity Finance QA team, delivering high-quality software in a fast-paced environment through pragmatic delivery and clear communication. You’ll apply your Java and SQL expertise to build and maintain automated tests, guided by a strong BDD mindset. Your work helps ensure robust, scalable solutions for internal clients while contributing to innovative, best-in-class QA practices.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain a BDD automation framework
• Create detailed test plans, test cases, and regression testing artifacts
• Act as quality gate: document and track defects
• Perform API-based automation testing for functional and non-functional needs
• Identify optimization opportunities to scale QA
• Collaborate with business and Production Support to investigate issues
• Develop/testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs
• Contribute to innovative and best-in-class QA solutions
• Apply proven software testing concepts to daily tasks
• Collaborate with development to resolve issues
• Adapt to changing priorities

Key requirements

• Automation testing experience with strong Java
• Solid experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber)
• Strong API automation/testing experience
• SQL knowledge for database validation
• Knowledge of CI/CD processes and tools (Jenkins, Git)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to adapt to changing business requirements
