As a Senior or Principal Electrical Engineer at Ramboll, you will lead electrical design delivery within the Building Services team and drive sustainable outcomes. You’ll manage your own projects, mentor juniors, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality design and client service. Responsibilities

• Lead larger Electrical work packages and act as Electrical Discipline Lead on appropriate projects
• Represent Ramboll at design team and client meetings, communicating technical matters clearly
• Develop design strategies across all design stages, including detailed design, specs, and on-site supervision
• Apply independent engineering judgement to standards and design approaches
• Plan and manage your workload and mentor junior team members
• Coordinate Electrical design with other disciplines and support multi-discipline coordination
• Produce detailed designs, conduct technical and quality reviews, supervise others
• Identify risks and develop proportionate solutions with escalation as needed
• Manage scope, change control, and project governance
• Contribute to client relationships and seek opportunities for repeat work
• Mentor graduates and engineers, providing development opportunities
• Champion sustainable and regenerative design with Ramboll tools
• Apply digital and parametric design tools to add value and drive knowledge sharing
• Principal Engineer responsibilities: lead larger or medium-risk projects, act as primary client/design contact, manage technical and financial leadership, plan complex projects, lead scope and fee discussions, develop commercial awareness
• Develop quality assurance activities across disciplines and review deliverables
• Support business development and strategic selling, secure repeat work

Key requirements

• Qualified Electrical or Building-Services engineer with proven track record
• Honours degree in Electrical or Building-Services Engineering (or equivalent)
• For Senior role: professionally registered or actively working towards IEng or CEng
• For Principal role: Chartered Engineer status with CIBSE, IET or equivalent or demonstrable competence
• Strong technical knowledge across building-services design stages
• Experience leading Electrical design packages or acting as discipline lead
• Ability to inspire confidence and strengthen client relationships
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Commercial awareness including scope, fee, programme, resources, change and risk
