GCP Cloud Engineer

Overview

In this contract role, you will design, build, and optimize Google Cloud Platform environments to be scalable, secure, and resilient. You will work on a highly secure programme, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement best practices in cloud architecture. Your SC clearance will enable you to operate within a regulated setting and shape secure cloud infrastructure at scale. This is an opportunity to apply IaC, containerisation, and automation to deliver robust cloud solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain GCP cloud infrastructure
• Ensure security, IAM, networking and resilience of environments
• Apply Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) to deploy resources
• Work with Kubernetes/GKE and containerised workloads
• Develop scripting/automation (Bash, Python or similar) for operational efficiency
• Operate within a highly secure/regulatory environment

Key requirements

• Strong commercial experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Experience designing, implementing and maintaining cloud infrastructure
• Hands-on with Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform
• Understanding of cloud networking, IAM and security best practices
• Experience with Kubernetes/GKE and containerised workloads
• Scripting and automation skills (Bash, Python or similar)
• Previous experience in secure or highly regulated environments
• Active SC clearance
