Virtualisation Engineer (VMware/vSphere/Horizon) – SC Cleared – Nottingham

(Inside IR35) On site 5 days Contract to 31 March 2027 + likely extension

A central government client is looking for an experienced Virtualisation Engineer to join an established infrastructure team in Nottingham. This is a long-standing programme so it’s a genuinely stable, long-term contract with a strong likelihood of extension (6-12 months beyond March 2027).

You’ll be project-focused, building and maintaining the virtualisation estate, with some BAU and technical support as required. You’ll need to be hands-on and confident owning the platform end to end.

Essential

• Expert-level VMware – vSphere, ESXi and Horizon VDI (build, upgrade, management)
• Windows Server 2012(R2), 2016 and 2019
• HPE Servers and data centre management
• Active Directory and core networking
• Comfortable joining an on-call rota (1 week in 4)

Desirable: SCCM, Synergy

Essential – please read:

• Active SC Clearance. We need it current and transferable – unfortunately, recently lapsed clearance won’t work for this one.
• Able to work on site in Nottingham 5 days a week.

The detail: Inside IR35. Start date ideally early July (some flex to allow SC transfer). Contract initially to 31 March 2027.
