Principal / Senior Building Control Surveyor (RBI), London Borough Hybrid Working 3-6 Month Contract

We are seeking an experienced Registered Building Inspector to join a busy and forward-thinking Building Control team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work across a varied portfolio of residential, commercial, public sector and regeneration projects while supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality development throughout the Borough.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess Building Regulation applications and technical submissions.
• Undertake site inspections across a range of developments.
• Provide practical and proportionate technical advice to applicants, developers and contractors.
• Support and mentor junior officers where appropriate.
• Manage a varied caseload and contribute to continuous service improvement.
• Work collaboratively with Planning, Housing and Highways teams.

Essential Requirements

• Registered Building Inspector (RBI).
• Class 2A, 2B, 2D or above.
• Experience undertaking Building Control inspections and assessments.
• Strong knowledge of Building Regulations and associated legislation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable

• Class 2E, 2F or higher.
• Local Authority Building Control experience.
• Membership of CABE, CIOB, RICS or equivalent professional body.
• Experience working on complex or higher-risk developments.
