Your responsibilities will include:
- Taking responsibility for vehicle preparation, mechanical maintenance, reliability and ensuring all race vehicles under your care are optimised for peak performance
- Perform routine maintenance, servicing, repairs, and upgrades
- Identifying problems quickly and developing practical solutions
- Carrying out pre-event checks and ensuring vehicles are fully prepared
- Supporting and leading mechanical work, repairs and adjustments at race meetings and track events
- Maintaining accurate records of vehicle work and maintenance both in the workshop and at circuit
- Managing tools, spares and workshop equipment
- Working with the wider team to ensure vehicles and equipment are ready for each event
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation and safety
You will be expected to work weekends, evenings and occasional extended hours around the race and event calendar, including overnight stays when required.
About You
The successful candidate will be an experienced mechanic with a strong technical background and the confidence to take ownership of a vehicle and its preparation.
You should have:
- A passion for motorsport is essential!
- Previous mechanical experience with race cars, performance vehicles, or similar is essential
- High standards of workmanship, attention to detail and a professional manner are a must
- Good organisational skills and the ability to remain calm and methodical when working under pressure
- A practical, problem-solving approach
- The ability to work collaboratively within a small team but also confident working independently and taking responsibility
- Willingness to travel across the UK (and occasionally Europe) throughout the year and work weekends as required.
- A clean, valid driving licence is required (an HGV licence would be advantageous but is not essential).
What We Offer
- Full-time, permanent position
- Competitive salary, depending on experience and qualifications
- Primarily workshop-based role
- Regular attendance at UK race meetings and track events, with opportunity for occasional European travel
- Varied and interesting mechanical work
- A high level of responsibility and autonomy
