Overview

In this Information Systems Specialist role, you will support critical business systems for the Neighbourhoods Services Directorate, enabling better service delivery and decision-making. You’ll work within the Digital Applications Team to modernise and optimise applications through data-driven insights and digital solutions. You will collaborate with suppliers and stakeholders to resolve issues, develop dashboards, and contribute to service improvements. Responsibilities

• Extract and explore data using SQL and other tools
• Analyze root causes of system problems and implement solutions
• Support first-line help desk queries with data-backed recommendations
• Design, build and maintain interactive dashboards and reports
• Gather requirements and translate business challenges into technical solutions
• Support service improvement initiatives and system enhancement projects
• Contribute to development and optimisation of key business applications
• Provide specialist support for NEC Housing and NEC Document Management (config, security, processes, support)
• Provide advanced SQL expertise for data analysis, reporting, and data correction
• Maintain knowledge of relational database structures relating to Housing, tenancy, property, repairs and document management
• Review, test and implement supplier fixes, scripts, upgrades following change management
• Act as technical lead for complex application, database and integration issues

Key requirements

• Strong technical capability with analytical and communication skills
• Experience in data analysis with large volumes of data
• Experience using data visualization tools and interactive dashboards
• Stakeholder engagement to gather requirements and deliver solutions
• Advanced reporting skills; SQL experience beneficial
• Housing and NEC experience; familiarity with NEC Housing and relational databases
• Knowledge of SQL and database concepts
