The Opportunity:
As a Financial Controller, you’ll play a key role in:Taking full ownership of monthly management accounts, financial reporting, and performance analysis, providing clear, meaningful insights to the senior leadership team.Partnering with operational and supply chain colleagues to understand production costs, stock, margins, and working capital, helping the business make informed commercial decisions.Managing cash flow forecasting, budgets, and financial controls, identifying potential risks early and recommending practical solutions.Driving improvements in reporting, systems, and processes, including opportunities for automation and more effective use of financial data.Supporting and developing a small transactional finance team, while contributing to the future structure and capabilities of the wider finance function.Your work will directly contribute to stronger financial visibility, improved operational decision-making and the continued success of a growing manufacturing business.
About You:
We’re looking for someone who can bring:Strong experience preparing management accounts, managing financial reporting, and supporting budgeting, forecasting, and year-end processes.A background in manufacturing or a similarly operational environment, with a sound understanding of stock, production costs, cash flow, and working capital.Proven experience partnering with non-finance stakeholders, translating financial information into practical commercial recommendations.Advanced Excel skills, confidence working with complex data and an interest in improving reporting through technology and automation.A proactive, collaborative approach, with the confidence to ask questions, constructively challenge decisions and build positive working relationships across the business.You will ideally be part-qualified or qualified through ACA, ACCA, or CIMA, although relevant practical experience and commercial capability will be equally valued.
Experience with Xero, ERP systems, standard costing, or systems implementation would be beneficial but is not essential.
