Care Home Cook (TT)

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Chef/Cook to join our team in our care home at Two Trees Plymouth. You will share responsibility for the overall running of the kitchen. alongside our existing cook; however, you will typically work on different days to the existing cook and be expected to manage the kitchen independently during your shifts.

Full Description

• Independently plan, prepare, and cook nutritious meals for residents
• Share overall responsibility for the smooth running and organisation of the kitchen
• Ensure continuity and consistency in meal quality, standards, and routines between shifts
• Cater for residents’ dietary, nutritional, and cultural needs
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment at all times
• Follow all food hygiene, health & safety, and infection control procedures
• Monitor stock, manage supplies, and minimise food waste
• Undertake additional cleaning and kitchen support duties as required

A Successful Candidate Should Have

Person Specification

• Previous experience as a cook or chef
• Ability to work independently and manage a kitchen alone
• Good communication skills to ensure effective handover between cooks
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards
• Understanding of special dietary requirements
• Reliable and flexible, including weekends and holidays
• Right to work and live in the UK
• Experience in a care home or healthcare setting
