Temporary Sales Advisor – 20 hours

Temporary Outlet Sales Advisor (Norwich)6-month fixed-term contract · 20 hours per week · £13.45 per hour

A little about us

At The Cotswold Company, we make furniture to be lived with and loved for years. Each piece is backed by our 15-year guarantee. We’re a B Corp, and we care about how we work as much as what we make.

Our Norwich Outlet gives much-loved pieces a second chance to find the right home. We’re looking for a warm, capable Sales Advisor to join the team for six months.

The role

You’ll be the friendly face of the Outlet. You’ll get to know each customer, understand what they’re looking for, and help them find something they’ll love. No two days are quite the same. One moment you’re talking someone through a dining table, the next you’re refreshing a display or helping with a stock check.

What you’ll be doing

  • Giving every customer a warm, personal welcome, and sharing what you know about our pieces with them
  • Helping customers choose well and spotting where something else might suit them too
  • Working towards Outlet sales goals, both on your own and as part of the team
  • Taking payments and arranging deliveries, and looking after the till carefully
  • Keeping the Outlet looking its best, from setting out displays to tidying the stockroom
  • Helping with stock checks, and with building, moving and wrapping furniture when it’s needed

What you’ll bring

  • A real interest in people and a love of good conversation
  • An eye for furnishings and design
  • Sales experience, and a quiet confidence in helping customers decide
  • Energy, reliability and the ability to organise your own day
  • Confidence using everyday computer tools such as Outlook, Word and Excel
  • The ability to lift, move and assemble furniture safely (we’ll train you in manual handling)

It would be lovely, though not essential, if you have:

  • A calm way with the occasional tricky conversation

The details

  • Contract: 6-month fixed term, starting asap
  • Hours: 20 hours per week, including some weekends
  • Pay: £13.45 per hour
  • Benefits: staff discount, holiday allowance pro rata

Our values

We work by four values: Lead with Care, Inspire Possibility, Focus on Impact and Endure with Purpose. We welcome applicants from every background and want everyone here to feel they belong. If you need any adjustments during the application process, just let us know.
